Hannah and James’s Wedding at Villa Eva, Ravello

Hannah and James celebrated their wedding in Ravello, high above the Amalfi Coast, with a ceremony in the town hall gardens and a reception at Villa Eva.
When they first saw photographs of Villa Eva, they felt it offered the setting they were looking for.
I arrived in Ravello with the bridal party two days before the wedding. For this couple, the marriage declaration appointment was arranged for the following morning, with hair trials and manicures in the afternoon. Requirements and appointments depend on each couple’s circumstances and should be confirmed with the relevant authorities.
They had booked a traditional villa with terraces for outdoor dining and views across the coast. Away from the bustle of town, it gave the family a place to relax before the celebration.
The couple and their close family stayed there in the days leading up to the wedding. Afterwards, their families continued their holiday while Hannah and James travelled elsewhere for a short honeymoon.
The night before the wedding, Hannah and her bridesmaids stayed in a suite at Villa Maria, where they would get ready the following morning.

The wedding morning began in sunshine. Hairdresser Piero Mansi arrived, followed by the photography and videography team from Effeunoquattro. The preparations were relaxed and full of laughter.
There was time for photographs on the balcony before leaving for the ceremony.
Hannah then joined her father, who was waiting downstairs.
Meanwhile, James and his groomsmen were getting ready at the villa.

The bridal party walked through Ravello’s cobbled streets to the town hall gardens. Along the way, people offered congratulations and calls of “Auguri”.
A local police officer also stopped to congratulate Hannah and her father.

The ceremony was conducted in Italian and translated into English, with personal readings and emotional moments throughout.
After two years of planning, Hannah and James were married, surrounded by their loved ones.
Traditional Italian musicians accompanied the guests to aperitivo, where they enjoyed canapés, prosecco and conversation. The newlyweds took a little time together before joining the celebrations.
At Villa Eva, dinner led into music and dancing. A surprise duet from Hannah and James made a memorable finale.
It was a joyful ending to a day that reflected them both.
