Planning a Three-Day Wedding Weekend on the Cilento Coast

A Cilento wedding weekend gives you something precious: time to be with the people you love. A welcome evening, your wedding day and a farewell gathering can each feel different while belonging to the same celebration.
Choose your base before planning the events
Start with the venue and accommodation together. A beautiful ceremony setting is only one part of the picture. Ask where everyone will stay, how they will reach each gathering and whether you want a private estate experience or a celebration centred on a town.
For a town-based weekend, Santa Maria di Castellabate and the surrounding area are worth exploring. For an estate stay, Tenuta di Punta Licosa is one of the settings we consider, with accommodation, private-use arrangements and event spaces checked for your dates.
Day one: a relaxed welcome
Let your guests settle in before asking them to join you. A pizza evening, shared local dishes or an aperitivo can create an easy first gathering. Check arrival times before choosing the start time, and tell guests whether this is a hosted meal or an optional get-together they pay for themselves.
Keep speeches brief and the finish comfortable. Tomorrow should begin with everyone feeling rested.
Day two: your wedding
Build the schedule around the ceremony, dining experience and venue’s agreed finishing time. Work backwards to allow for preparations, supplier setup and guest transfers. If the ceremony and reception are in different places, include the journey and boarding time in the plan.
A wet-weather alternative needs to accommodate the whole celebration, including dining and access between spaces. Agree the decision time, who makes the call and how suppliers will be informed.
Day three: a farewell with breathing room
A brunch or leisurely lunch offers one last chance to share stories. Choose its timing around departures, check luggage arrangements and leave enough time for onward journeys. Guests with early flights should feel free to say goodbye the evening before.
Would four days suit you better?
An extra day can make room for exploring, a cooking experience or a boat outing where availability and conditions allow. Keep activities optional and leave unscheduled time. Guests may want a swim, a quiet coffee or an afternoon of their own.
Budget for the whole stay
Include welcome and farewell catering, drinks, transport, staffing, equipment and planning support alongside the wedding-day costs. Confirm who pays for accommodation and optional activities before sending invitations. A clear plan helps everyone decide comfortably.
