Why hire a planner
Updated: Mar 18
Many of my couples really don’t know where to start when planning a destination wedding. Information online can make it seem daunting and off putting, but please don’t be put off.
Planning a destination wedding is actually easier than planning a wedding at home as long as you have a wedding planner who knows the area and location you choose and will guide you through each step, advise on budget, recommend venues based on your requirements, negotiate with, recommend and coordinate suppliers, manage logistics and give you advice & guidance ensuring that you are relaxed and can enjoy the fun parts of planning your destination wedding.
We take all the burden and responsibility of trying to plan a wedding in another country. In fact most of my couples do not come and view their wedding venue before booking their wedding, they trust my advice, do their own research online and feel comfortable that they have booked a beautiful venue for their special day.
Having said that, we do offer a guided three day tour of your chosen location in which we take you to visit some of the venues you really like the look of which gives you the chance to meet the owners or managers and staff and get a really good feel for each place.
You can even check out guest accommodation and try the local food and wine!!
So what are the first steps when planning? You need to have an idea of guest numbers, time of year, style of wedding and venue, also a rough idea of budget. Then we talk about venues that are appropriate. I will then give you information, photos, videos (if available) and an idea of price, then it’s up to you to decide if you have fallen in love with any of them. Of course if you want to come out and view venues, that’s great, but if not there is so much information online that you can get such a good vision and feel of a venue.
Before you book a venue we will send you a Wedding Proposal for each venue documenting the exact costs of your wedding day so you know exactly what you are getting and how much it costs, and when the payments are due. So you are completely informed before booking your wedding.
